Allergy Test

Allergies are very common and can affect anyone. Allergies develop when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance or protein.

Common types of allergies include:

  • Food (milk, peanuts, shellfish)
  • Pollen (tree, grass, weed)
  • Animal (fur, skin or urine of animals such as dog and cat)
  • Insects (bees, cockroach, dust mites)
  • Drug (antibiotics, aspirin)
  • Latex (gloves, balloon)
  • Mould (fungi such as Aspergillus and Penicillium)

Immunoglobulins E (IgE) are antibodies produced by the immune system. An IgE allergy test primarily identifies immediate allergic reactions. IgE-mediated allergies typically trigger in rapid symptoms within minutes, such as hives, itching, swelling, breathing difficulties, or anaphylaxis (severe, life-threatening allergic reaction).

Food intolerance is when there is difficulty digesting certain foods or ingredients in food. IgG [1] - mediated allergies often result in more subtle or delayed symptoms, such as diarrhoea and bloating.

If you are experiencing any allergy symptoms, don’t wait for it to disappear. It's important to address them promptly to avoid potential risks and maintain overall health and well-being.
